Finishes Gel Stain -
General's oil based gel stain replaces our Bartley
stains. These products are identical to Bartley in terms of ease of
application, dry time and coverage.

Water Based Lacquer -
Enduro Clear Acrylic
is a newer generation acrylic with better
chemical resistance and hardness than the old Clear Acrylic. Perfect product
for general finishing and rubs out to a beautiful sheen. Excellent product
for guitars and musical instruments! Easy to sand with
good adhesion.

Behlen Furniture Powders
are finely ground dry pigment powders that have hundreds of uses for the
finisher. Typically used for spot repairs (or color replacement) on
furniture, they mix easily with shellac, lacquer and varnishes. Because
they're 100% dry inert colors and contain no binder, they can be added to
any product. Also great for coloring epoxy. Sold individually or in sets of

 Enduro-Var Water Based Urethane
- This new finish from General is becoming our
favorite. This product looks more like an oil finish than any water based
one we've seen. Cross-links with air just like solvent based polyurethane
finishes to form a tough, water resistant finish. Good for floors, cabinets
table tops, even trim. Easily brushes or sprayed.
We recommend this product on darker woods like mahogany, cherry and walnut
to bring out the luster and depth that you don't get with water based
finishes. Not recommended for top-coating light paints or stains due to it's
amber color.

clean and maintain your project's finish or a commercial factory finish. Also

Waterbased Stain

This is a special
application stain that allows you to achieve that dark Espresso color
without a multi-step process. Formulated from dyes and pigments, this
product looks great on just about anything you want in the dark Espresso
color. Can be sprayed or wiped. Typically one coat is all that's necessary,
but darker colors are possible with 2 applications. Made with a special
application acrylic base the product dries slower than a standard waterborne
reduced TransTint. A Homestead exclusive! Once dry, you can topcoat with
any finish. To achieve countless variations use a standard TransTint color
like Orange, Amber or
Bordeaux as a base color, then apply the Espresso.

ViviTone Solvent Based Micronized Pigments
-
We originally made these pigment concentrates for some large
industrial manufacturers that have fell on hard times, so now we are
offering these to our customers. Made with special micronized pigments,
these colors can be easily added to any shellac and lacquer thinner based
lacquer product (nitrocellulose, pre-cats, conversion). Or just reduce them
with denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner for a fast dry stain. Available in
8 oz size, these colors are handy when you need to tint small amounts of
product. Also can be used for touch-ups. Product disperses
quickly and makes great transparent toners or opaque colors, depending on amount
used.
ViviTone™ Solvent Based
Micronized Pigment Colorants - These handy
colors are available in standard Universal Colors (except blue) in an 8 oz jar
for easy dispensing. Unlike traditional Universal Tinting
Colorants these colors can be added in any amount to product to achieve the
effect desired. Perfect product for shellac and furniture lacquers. Has
excellent light fastness. All colors are inter-mixable.
