  TARGET WATERBORNE ALKYD VARNISH - The Oxford Varnish Series is a chemically advanced line of waterborne/oil-modified coatings that utilizes exclusive Emulsion Technology Hybridization™ chemistries.  Specifically formulated to provide a rich, amber color tone and a warm depth-of-image in a  brush and spray ready formulation, this "hybrid" varnish is a unique departure from conventional water-based technology. Oxford EM2000WVX is designed for traditional applications such as historic architectural renovations, new and old furniture, cabinets and interior doors and sills.

EM6000 PRODUCTION SPRAY LACQUER

EM6000 PRODUCTION SPRAY LACQUER - (formerly Ultima Spray Lacquer) This acrylic copolymer dries fast, hard, and best of all -- with 100% burn-in between coats. This means no witness lines when rubbing out. Ultima is comparable to solvent and nitrocellulose lacquers and is HAPS compliant. At 30% solids, this product builds faster than solvent lacquer and is ideally suited to those situations where the finish is polished or rubbed to various sheens. It polishes to gloss beautifully. This product is designed for spray application.

SUPERCLEAR POLYURETHANE

OXFORD 9000 SERIES SUPERCLEAR POLYURETHANE - this is the Target product to use when you want a durable, 100% water-clear and non-yellowing finish. Product applies well by spray or brush and is ideal for countertops and other high wear areas. Best product to use over white or pickled finishes or where you want the natural color of the wood to show through. Product can be tinted to the USL colors above or over tinted EmTech 8800 sealer.  Polishes very well.

EMTECH 9300 POLYCARBONATE URETHANE

EMTECH 9300 POLYCARBONATE WATERBORNE URETHANE - this interior/exterior finish is 100% water clear and non-yellowing and dries to the hardest finish we've ever seen in a waterborne. Best uses are for interior and exterior situations where harsh exposure form sun and other problems exist. Formulated with biocides and UV additives, this product outperforms anything else out there.

ULTRASEAL-WB™SEALER

Oxford UltraSeal-WB™ Water-Based Shellac Sealer & Barrier Coat is a water dispersed dewaxed shellac system that looks and behaves almost identically to alcohol cut shellac. (See maple sample right) Product is compatible with all Target products and is highly recommended as a binder for toning when using TransTint dyes. When used as a sealer, great effects can be obtained by lightly tinting the UltraSeal with TransTint dyes. Product available in 3 grades, amber (traditional amber shellac look), garnet (intermediate brown) and golden red (reddish brown).

BRUSHES FOR WATER BASE

  ATHENA SERIES 7100 GOLDEN TAKLON - We're pleased to announce the addition of  this unique brush to our catalog. This replaces the Winsor Newton #580 and is an exact duplicate in terms of price, style and features. This brush has no reservoir and because of its fine, soft bristles and sharp edge, it's just about the best brush you'll find for applying shellac and water based finishes, particularly where a precise edge and control are necessary. Excellent for complicated shapes and profiles as well as tight corners. For those students who take my classes, they know this is the brush I reach for first.

HOMESTEAD GOLDEN TAKLON - This brush is the finest brush you'll ever use for brushing water base finishes. Essentially a larger version of the Winsor & Newton brush above, the fine, synthetic Taklon bristle is set into a lacquered handle with a stainless steel ferrule. The golden Taklon bristles are very fine and soft, and do not promote bubbles. Cleans up easily with ammonia and water.

HOMESTEAD WATERBASE GOLDEN TAKLON - This brush is the best brush for dedicating to waterbased finishes. Similar to the above Taklon brush but with an unpainted wood handle that won't swell in water and flake off paint. ADDITIVES FOR WATER BASE FINISHES

SA5 SPRAY/BRUSH RETARDER - Use this additive to reduce all Target finishes for better flow-out when spraying and to maintain a “wet-edge” when brushing.  By adding 5-10% by liquid volume of SA5, the varnish will flow-out like glass when using turbine driven spray equipment.
