General 450 Interior/Exterior Stain - General Finishes 450 stain is made with finely ground lightfast pigments and are great for any exterior application. The great color selection also makes this product a great interior stain. Product can be wiped or sprayed and can be diluted/reduced with Natural Base for lighter effects. When using with splotch-prone woods, the General Pre-Stain Conditioner can be used.

General Finishes Clears
 

New! Enduro-Var Water Based Urethane - This brand new finish from General is quickly becoming our favorite. This product looks more like an oil finish than any water based one we've seen. Cross-links with air just like solvent based polyurethane finishes to form a tough, water resistant finish. Good for floors, cabinets table tops, even trim. Easily brushes or sprays. Recommended for darker woods like mahogany, walnut and cherry.

High Performance Polyurethane - High Performance Top Coat is the hardest, most durable consumer polyurethane top coat on the market today. It brushes the best of any waterborne finish we've used and sprays incredibly well to a smooth finish. In addition it contains two types of UV Stabilizers, one to protect the finish from breaking down in sunlight and the other to protect underlying stains from fading or light colored woods from darkening. And with its pure polyurethane durability, it can even be used on floors. This is a great all-around product and is used over the acrylic enamels below to increase the durability. Used with the cross-linker, it will be one of the most durable product in the General Finishes line-up. Water-clear and non-yellowing.

PreCat 181  - WATERBORNE PRE-CATALYZED URETHANE FINISH This finish is a near water clear, pre-catalyzed urethane finish designed to replace solvent based pre-cats. Dries fast and develops a hard finish quickly. Excellent for all furniture and cabinet work. Product can be brushed or sprayed and performs extremely well with turbines. Very good for cold weather application. This is the best waterborne "off-the-gun" gloss finish we have ever used!

Enduro Clear Poly - Tougher than the tough! Re-formulated (Fall 2010), Clear Poly has better durability and overall toughness than it's predecessor. Water clear and non-yellowing with a high solids content for rapid build. KCMA tests on this product show it to beat out solvent based pre-cats from the major finish manufacturers.  Apply by wiping, brushing or spray.

Enduro Sanding Sealer - A very easy sanding acrylic based sealer that can be used with all General and Enduro finishes. Apply by brush or spray. it dries quickly to a very easy to sand surface. When thinned 1:1 with water it can be used as a stain controller for waterborne stains and dyes on difficult to stain woods like cherry.

Undercoater/Primer -  Designed to seal, prime and fill the grain/pores. Provides a superior basecoat and is more economical and efficient than using other products. Very easy to sand due to the high solids content and very minimal grain raising if applied without water reduction. A first rate primer for particleboard edges, replacing solvent base products. Custom tinting available for a small up charge. This product works under all our waterborne finishes including Target. Off-White works well when doing white paint topcoats as it allows you to see proper coverage/hiding when painting over the primer.

Exterior Clear Finishes and Paint

Exterior 450 - EXTERIOR 450 interior/exterior varnish provides your wood with a tough, protective finish that will withstand the rigors of the sun, rain, and wind. EXTERIOR 450 is fortified with UV absorbers to minimize fading and its built-in mildewcide retards mold and mildew growth. It's tough and flexible, and resists the expansion and contraction of the wood through seasonal cycles. It flows well and dries rapidly to a clear finish. Also recommended as a finish to go over an unknown finish as it has the best adhesion of all the General Finishes.

White primer is only for paint colors and provides a smooth foundation. It also contains a tannin block to prevent discoloration when painting certain woods like cedar.

Classic Paint/Milk Paint- General Finishes Classic Paints are the industrial equivalent to their line of consumer Milk Paints. Suitable for indoor or outdoor furniture, crafts, and cabinets. This product is recommended when painting over an existing unknown finish. Product can be brushed or sprayed and it's higher viscosity resists sagging and drips. When used with Glaze Effects, you can create all the new decorative finishes such as distressing, antiquing, marble effects, rag rolling, or color washing. The General Finishes Milk Paint Colors are available in both the Classic Paint Base and the Acrylic Base. The Classic Paint Base is used for hand application such as brushing or for exterior work. The Acrylic Base is used for interior spray application only and should spray easily with a setup you normally use for clears.

Enduro Crosslinker - A non-aziridine based cross-linker that can be used with Enduro Clear Poly and Acrylic Finishes. 3/4 oz is added per quart (3 oz per gallon) of finish to improve solvent and mar resistance.  Catalyzed material is good for 48 hrs. Unused material can be re-activated by adding 2 parts fresh finish to old, then adding catalyst for the 3 parts. (Example - you have 1 quart left. Add 2 quarts fresh finish, then add 2.25 oz catalyst).

Colorants - Our colorants have 100% compatibility with General and Enduro Finishing Products. 

ViviTone™ Water-Base Pigment Colorants - These handy colors are available in standard Universal Colors in a flip-top style jar (4 oz and 8 oz only) for easy dispensing. Unlike traditional Universal Tinting Colorants that utilize a soft binder, these pigments are dispersed in 100% acrylic, ensuring a faster and harder dry and non-yellowing qualities. Has excellent light-fastness and all tints are exterior rated. Use for making glazes, stains, your own paints or any use where a water based colorant is needed.

TransTint Dyes - These concentrated dye colors are first rate for making your own stains using General Finishes stain base or water. Available in wood tones and primary colors. Can also be used to "tweak" stock colors. When adding to waterborne products, mix amount of TransTint that you will use with an equal amount of water prior to mixing.
